As of 1st August 2025, Sebastien is a Partner in the Patents and Innovations department of Taylor Wessing. Sebastien’s experience covers a wide range of aspects of intellectual property and patent law, with a focus on national and cross-border IP disputes and worldwide patent prosecution. He has extensive experience before the UPC, specialized Dutch patent courts, the European Patent Office (EPO) and other patent courts and offices worldwide. Furthermore, he is experienced in drafting and negotiating IP license agreements and complex patent cross-license frameworks. Sebastien is a UPC representative, a European Patent Attorney and a member of the Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office (epi). He has a degree in engineering, specializing in applied physics, completed a course in biotechnology at a renowned Belgian university and is currently pursuing a law degree. Prior to joining Taylor Wessing, Sebastien worked for 5 years at the international law firm Simmons & Simmons and prior to that had an inhouse position as European Patent Attorney and Legal IP Manager in the world’s largest flooring company.
