Kieran joined the European Space Agency in 2020, where he works in the Technology and Research Contracts section. He specialises in early-stage technology development contracts and has recently concluded agreements for strategic initiatives including INVICTUS — Europe’s new hypersonic test platform — and the Agency’s EEE Space Component Sovereignty Initiative.
He is admitted as a lawyer in New York, England & Wales, and Ireland, bringing a broad transatlantic and EU legal perspective to his work. At ESA, he co-chairs the ESTEC Software Licensing Board, guiding the release and licensing of both Agency and industry developed software
Prior to joining ESA, Kieran worked at a global international trade consultancy and at one of Ireland’s leading full-service law firms. He holds a Bachelor of Business & Law from University College Dublin, a Master’s in International Technology Law from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and a Diploma in Insolvency & Corporate Restructuring from the Law Society of Ireland.
