Lisa Cowey is currently the technical coordinator for the IMPAC3T IP project – a three year action funded by the European Commission to help secure increased impact from investment in R&D by ensuing that more licensing can take place for both economic and societal impact.
Across a 30 year career Lisa has worked for both large international companies and emerging university spinoffs in the fields of new product development and R&D commercialisation, holding senior management positions in the UK, USA and Germany. She holds a PhD in physics and higher degrees in Business Management and IPR.
For the last 15 years Lisa has been involved in technical assistance and capacity building in the area of innovation and IP rights for newer EU Member States, the Western Balkans and Eastern Partnership countries. She has a growing interest in new licensing approaches to bring technology to market that does not fit traditional licensing models. Within the IMPAC3T IP project she has led on the development of a ‘Tool-kit for Crisis’ including the promotion of tools for equitable access.
