Kathleen De Belder is a senior IP expert navigating the dynamic intersection of technology, business, and law. Since 2011, she has been part of imec’s IP Business & Intelligence team, where she advises on IPR-related aspects in business concepts and contracts, and supporting negotiation and licensing of R&D agreements.
Prior to this, she served as a patent officer within imec, overseeing invention capture, filings, and developing protection strategies aligned with imec’s R&D roadmap.
Kathleen holds a PhD degree in Engineering Sciences and has completed several trainings in European patent law, due diligence, technology licensing and others. She has been serving on the LES Benelux board since 2019 – former president from 2022 to 2023 – also representing the region in LES International.
